Guest guest
a, I go for an esophageal (sp?) echocardiogram next Wednesday at a local hospital. The test itself only takes 20-30 minutes, but there is a one hour prep and a two and one half hour wake up session. I can't eat or drink after midnight the night before, and no meds. THAT will be the hard part for me, since I take so many for Lupus and other stuff. Oh well, it's just for one day. Then, later on, either next week, or early the following week, I will be scheduled for an overnight stay and an arteriogram. That one takes hours, and since I am super sensitive to chemicals, especially dyes, anesthetics, etc. they will probably keep me overnight to make sure I'm ok to go home. Cardio Doc said that to me today. Then, tonight I had a call from my PCP, just to see if I'm ok with the news, and to tell me that my latest blood work shows I am even more anemic than before, and to double my iron. Also, he wants me to see a gastroenterologist asap to find the source if internal bleeding, since he doesn't feel the leaky heart valves can account for this much anemia. What do I know? Right, I am just an impatient patient. LOL So, that's all I know for now. Oh, and they cancelled the heart stress test as too risky for now. Well, duh. No shit Sherlock. Sheesh. More later.
