Guest guest Posted April 21, 2004 Report Share Posted April 21, 2004 Mojo .....the reason I don't have a Rheumy right now is because the wonderful Rheumy that treated me for 5 years dropped off my insurance Co.......I had to find a new one ( which was the `infamous ' Dr. Ali......who I only saw twice......she would never respond to my calls when I was sick.....and never sent any lab. results to me or my Primary care Doc.......I would have to go to my Primary Doc. for the things she should have been taking care of .......I finally got rid of her......and called my insurance Co. for some names of Rheumatologists in my area.....they gave me a name and number of one near me......I checked with my Primary Doc.......He said he had heard only good things about him. I called his office for an appt.......I needed to get Labs. done, have my Primary Doc.send him his office notes.....Lab results.....and when the Rheumy.....Dr. Kier, reviews my labs and notes......his office will call me to set up an appt........So the info he needed to review my case was just sent to him on Monday when I went in for lab.results.......so am just waiting for his call. I know I need to have a good Rheumy....and am doing my best to get one.......I sure miss my old one......he was the best in the area! C. LONEWOLF IN ACTION !! Hello My Fellow Lupies, Well ......this angry old Granny stood up for herself this morning! I called my Nephrologist and they told me that they couldn't get me in till the last part of June.......I then read them my BUN and Cretinine levels......and told them was scared because I have Lupus......and have not had a good Rheumatologist for over a year and there is no telling how long my levels have been this high! So after a little more insistance from me.....I now am going to pick up a jug for a 24 hr. urine catch today......start the catch tomorrow morning.....take it back on Friday.......and I have an appointment with my Nephrologist next Friday, the 29th !!
