Guest guest
Hi. I am new to this group. My daughter, Kaitlin, was born on 3/9/04 with a unilateral LCF. The 1st doctor that she saw casted her foot every week for 3 weeks then recommended a tenotomy. The 2nd doctor (and doc we now see) casted her for 3 more weeks then prescribed a DBB which she began wearing 4 days ago. The first 3 days she screamed non-stop. I called the office and the nurse said to call back if she was still crying in 4 days (Monday). They said that redness is normal. Her feet had several red spots even on the first day of wearing the DBB. Today when I removed her shoes I noticed a purple/black spot on the heel of her right foot. I know it is not from slippage, although she does not have the plastozid inserts everyone keeps talking about. When I called the office today (Sat) they said to leave the shoes off unless the spot healed and to call on Monday. Has this happened to anyone else? I am wondering if she is ready for the DBB. I know that the brace specialist said that her angle had to be reduced to 50 degrees when she was being sized. The doctor said that was fine. I have just discovered this website and I am thankful that I did. I think I need help-got any? Freeman Charlotte, NC
