Guest guest
Bonnie: I checked the Mr. Noodle pkg and it contains MSG. One would think if MSG was the problem she would have an episode after consuming Mr. Noodle which she has had frequently. These severe episodes would be more frequent. Episodes seem to occur with a larger quantity of food and foods requiring longer digestion times like fats and proteins. I suppose it is worth cutting out all MSG for a week and checking for appetite improvement. We do not use MSG on our meat. Do you or your daughter have Low B.P on standing so that you need to take in more salt to help it, or Marfans features with your EDS? Bernie Re: Severe Spinning Dizzyness, Nausea, Sweating Episodes in the Night Severe Spinning Dizzyness, Nausea, Sweating Episodes in the Night Bernie - do you use any MSG products on your meat? I have had a reaction to MSG in Chinese Food and the medical profession calls it 'Chinese Food Syndrome " - a reaction to MSG in the Chinese Food. It causes severe nausea, extreme dizziness/vertigo (vertigo is when the whole room is spinning, not just feeling dizzy). I was so bad that I had to have Ray (my hubby) help me to the bathroom to vomit!!! I've never ever gone back to that Chinese Restaurant. The other thing is to see if her body can tolerate proteins...not sure what type of test would need to be done...

I don't know if MSG can be accumulative in the tissues or not...sorry.. Bernie I was just at an electrophysiologist on Friday for this very thing. I have had low blood pressure since I was a kid and would start to faint when I would stand up. I've learned to stand up/sit up slowly.... The MD said to increase my salt intake and increase fluid intake. She also suggested compression stockings available at Walgreens, etc. I can do the 1st to but not the last as when I had tried spandex nylons/support nylons they killed my feet/toes.... Guest guest
RE: Severe Spinning Dizzyness, Nausea, Sweating Episodes in the Night My loves extra salt so she may be listening to her body to keep her blood pressure up. She has low blood pressure too but not so low that she faints. Of the list of POTS symptoms, I had 30 of them! I gave the info to the MD but she didn't even look at them or question me about them. She offered a holter monitor but the couple of times i've used them in the past - they never picked up the fast heart rate or what felt like skipping beats...so why spend the money??? I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything as it's been 10 years since I was to an eletrophysiologist...
