Guest guest
Hi Friends I can't believe this, but I need to ask all of you to please put my family in your prayers again. I am the one with the son who fractured his skull only four weeks ago. He is doing okay while recovering slowly. I have since developed pericarditis, which isn't the first time, and am dealing with a ton of new drugs to try to control it before it gets worse. I just was released from the hospital on Sunday night. Then, Monday morning my mother, who will be 79 on June 30, was in a very bad car accident. She was crossing a quiet street near her home on a green light and was hit by a driver running a red light at 65 mph. She had to be cut out of the wreckage and air lifted to the hospital. She has sustained a head injury, and numerous fractures to her pelvic area. She already had a bad hip on the right side. These fractures are all on the left side.. the driver's side where she was hit. The doctors are still trying to decide if they can do surgery since she has a blood clotting condition..the reason she never had the surgery to repair the bad right hip. I had to sit in the ER with her looking at the woman who hit her all day on Monday while they stablized my mother. Needless to say, my lupus soared that day! The woman who ran the red light was released the same day with minor injuries, of course. My mom is now admitted and cannot stand at all. They will begin physical therapy for her tomorrow that will be excruciatingly painful for her to endure just to try to teach her to walk again. This is a woman who was still living alone, driving, taking care of herself as well as a dog and a parrot. She loved to garden and enjoyed life immensely. Now, it will be a miracle if she ever walks normally again. But we will work hard to try. I am the only daughter so my work is cut out for me to take care of her. I know we can get help, but I want to be there for as much as possible. My doc is warning me already I have to back off. But how can you do that??? She is my mom! PLEASE put me in your prayers. Seeing my little mom in this much pain has been about the worst thing I have ever endured. I need God to give me strength to get through this. Thanks for listening. No one but my lupie buddies would understand the dilemma of being sick already and having something like this happen in your life.
