{Written in regards to my(CindyH's) question about thunking spine.}

But now I amsuspicious of whether my discs are collapsing or bone spurs are

forming and catching on ligaments.

Dear AJ,

I've wondered if this is due to the condition of the lumbar/sacral area that's

had three laminectomies in the past *plus* not having ligament support to my

back-an orthopedic doctor sad there wasn't any.

But also does it at times in my lower neck and/or upper thoracic spine area.

When it 'thunks' it's often when first getting up, or right before going to bed

at night.

So far no pressure with it. But it has a strange, slightly uncomfortable achy,

heavyish feeling in the area it's 'thunking'. I haven't done anything to see if

it will help it feel better, and only notice loud pops whenever it wants to pop

-just does it on it's own.

When I hear a pop, it's at a different time than the thunks. I sure feel

something in my spine shift and put pressure on a nerve--no thunks. When it gets

relaxed enough it will shift back into place with a really loud pop. They could

both be from the same cause-a loose spine in some areas.

I think we may be talking about the same kind of 'thunk'. It definitely has

something to do with the spine feeling loose. -if that's what you're taking

about.
