Guest guest
I didn't know they were pulling out of the us market, that sucks. I have a tj-35 and LOVE it! I had the sj 22 and dropped it last fall and had to live without my life for a couple weeks until I got my new one. I mean really, I couldn't live without it because it does EVERYTHING. The reason I picked sony over palm was screen resolution. For the price I got a better machine than the comparable tungsten. I use my clie as an alarm clock, my wwcalc, I write so I have the fold up keyboard, and I read a lot. I mean a LOT! so the high res with the backlight makes reading a joy. I don't have a memory stick yet, so I don't play around with the mp3 player, but that was the final factor in why I got the tj-35. I also have my grocery lists <by store> and our book databases <over 1200 and counting, both dh and I have several hundred we haven't read yet>all in a neat little program. And I have ultrasoft money, which means I always know how much money we have <and how much we still have to pay off on our CC's> All of this hotsyncs with our desktop! If I want to add a book I can do it up in our wellhouse <where we store our books> or down here on my computer and then hotsync. Or if I'm in a store and decide to use my debit card I can enter the transacting right there, come home and hotsync. Did I mention this thing is my LIFE?? I also play games of course, but those others are the reasons I have a clie. I didn't get one with a camera because frankly they aren't worth it, the resolution on the cameras aren't enough to want one yet. And we have a digital camera. I don't need to take voice notes, so a higher end tungsten wasn't enough to draw me in, and those little keyboards?? puh-leeze! just do it on the screen! I have an easier time tapping away with the onscreen keyboard, or I'll pull out my full size fold up one. Plus Sony has the palm os which is the ONLY way to go for now. Once the technology really catches up then it'll be worth it to switch to windows based system, but right now? why bother? I can multi-task far more efficiently with my dell. Oh and nope, I don't need wi-fi, I get my email on my desktop. I'm just your joe user, but let me tell you I use it for everything. I guess when I need a new one I'll have to switch back to palm <I started with a basic b & w palm but when dh got his sl-10 and I realized that high res was the only way to go I got the sj-22, and never looked back> Writing on this thing is a breeze, I can carry my full WIP with me and several other documents and work on the ferry, or anywhere . . . I can tap out a couple of pages before we reach the other side, then head up to the library and write some more with my keyboard. and they clie and keyboard take up NO room in my purse. I love my clie. <EG> Subject: RE: Goal Delema Sony's pulling out of the PDA market, sure 'nuff. I love my TJ-37 but you might want to go with a Palm One device. I hear that the Treo 600 is pretty sweet (cell phone/PDA that runs the PalmOS), but at nearly $500, it's pretty pricey. If you do buy a PDA, make sure it has the PalmOS on it so that you can run WWCalc.
