Hi Kori-

My son is 2 (25 months) and in the DBB for 12 hours a day too. We don't put

them on for naps because he is the second born and we aren't home always for

nap time. We do it as a nightime routine. My son sleeps about 10-11 hours.

We usually gain the rest of the time by putting them on after bath time

(bedtime bath) and during books or he sits and watches a video after bath

before bed. My son is diagnosed loose jointed and had a mild left foot. I

used to be a slave by the clock (to make sure he was getting the exact hours

in) now I don't. We just make it part of the routine. Somedays he might get

a little less than 12 hours and some days a little more. My son actually

fights me often and doesn't want me to take them off in the morning now. He

loves to try and teeter back and forth on them and thinks it is a game to

crawl with them on too. I try and not make it a big deal, so it never

becomes a big deal to my son either. I think as they get older the key is

being consistant that the shoes go on when the child goes to sleep at night.

Just my two cents!

Hi Kori,

We've just started the 12hr routine last week. Ridley is 13mtns and is

crawling, cruising and walking with us holding his fingers. He loves being

out of the brace. He used to be so tolerant but recently he gets himself out

if you're too slow. He's almost worn out the 7th hole now so we are checking

the mail everyday to see when our replacement straps come. He's in as a

bedtime routine and the brace on means sleep time, luckily. He naps upto 2

hours a day so I usually get his 12 hours in.Being new I'm a slave to times

and have stopped twice already whilst driving to put the brace on when he

fell asleep. I wish I could put it on at the start but I know he'll wriggle

out and I just don't want that strap to break.

Melitsa

Little miracles happen everyday.
