Guest guest
Hi all, I've read a few times that women want to avoid a hysterectomy because they " don't want to go through menopause " . My understanding is that if the surgeon does NOT remove your ovaries, you will have your hormones, and therefore wouldn't experience traditional menopause symptoms. Does anyone know why a surgeon would remove ovaries during a hysterectomy for fibroids? Or why the ovaries would be damaged? Is there a risk of this for some reason? And isn't it true that a UAE may present a greater risk of permanent menopause due to " Mis-embolization? I understand the risk of mis-embolization is anywhere from 1% to 14%. Would love to hear from MD's on the list, and/or get some links about hysto and menopause risk. ***** Look for the good and praise it! ***** R.--SF | = O = |
