Guest guest
Hi Patty, I am not Andy, but my son is doing great on Armour. He is 8. We stopped chelating over the summer to see what the armour alone would do. His recent hair test showed remarkable improvement despite the fact we stopped chelating. I have no doubt proper thyroid functioning is necessary to everything your body tries to do, including chelating or detoxification of any kind. It is amazing your doc wants to use cortef. I use that for myself, and it has helped tremendously, It is hard enough to get a doc to prescribe it for an adult, but a child is unheard of. My son has many adrenals issues too, and the thyroid has helped. In fact his hair showed the pattern of adrenal dysfunction before, and now with the armour, it is not present. Good luck, I think you are on the right track, nne We just saw a new nutritionist who indicated from hair test results that my son is not producing T4 to convert to T3 and recommended Armour Thyroid, as well as Cortef to address cortisol issue. We are following your chelation protocol with ALA. I read the pages in your book about thyroid, and the role of mercury, but I'd really appreciate your input as to the following:
Guest guest
Hi, nne... What is the hair pattern that indicates a problem with the adrenal glands? My son (age 17) has recently completed a cortef test, with results indicating he doesn't need cortef supplementation, and is now doing a thyroid trial. Thanks! Guest guest
> Hi Andy, > > We just saw a new nutritionist who indicated from hair test results that my son is not producing T4 to convert to T3 I don't know how to pick this up from hair test reuslts. I would really like an explanation since I am quite skeptical. I think some signs can SUGGEST THE POSSIBILIBY OF THYROID PROBLEMS, but not in great detail, or with great certainty. >and recommended Armour Thyroid, Which is not relevant to the conversion of T4 to T3. However if you are going to use thyroid it is the best choice if he is simply low. I'd really want to see a complete thyroid panel if I were you, free T3, free T4, T3, T4, TSH before doing this, and probably try some kind of thyroid herbs containing selenium first as well unless the tests were very messed up. Also read the signs and symptoms of low thyroid, e. g. in Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, and consider whether it seems reasonable he is low. >as well as Cortef I'd certainly try all other forms of adrenal support before using much cortef in a child. If used, 5-10 mg a day MAX for long term use, but try lots of adrenal cortex extract and licorice/herbs first. > to address cortisol issue. We are following your chelation protocol with ALA. I read the pages in your book about thyroid, and the role of mercury, but I'd really appreciate your input as to the following: > > 1) Knowing that mercury is playing a role here and we are chelating, is this something you feel strongly about being addressed...are there ever situations where you suggest we do not add the thyroid hormone (knowing the prob. will exist while the metals are present)? Despite the caveats above I would err on the side of using too much thyroid or using it inappropriately in a child because the risks of being mildly too high are mostly relevant to adults, while the risks of being mildly too low are profound for a child. Even mainstream medicine realizes this for infants. > 2) What dosage and any problems to watch out for with the addition of the hormone, and the cortef? > He is 9 years old and weighs just 53 lbs. This is quite consistent with thyroid too low. > Incidentally, it was wonderful to have a professional who " got it " in terms of chelation. We have recently left our current neurotoxicologist as she encouraged me to stop chelating (thinking he had " improved enough " ) and she kept telling me that " the damage was done and permanent " in terms of neuron activity. MD medicine is a human sacrificing religion. There is no other reasonable way to view statements like this, based on dogma that is contrary to all scientific understanding and directed at preventing people from getting well. Your son is quite lucky that you are not well enough indoctrinated into the cult to go glassy eyed and offer him up as a sacrifice when asked to do so. > He continues to improve with every round. Now I need to find someone to write a script Shop around. An advantage of thyroid support herbs is they are OTC. Hydrocortizone cream is also OTC, and about 10% of what you put on does get absorbed. > Thanks, Andy! > > Sincerely, > Patty > >
