Guest guest Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hi Lynn, I just ordered some myself. I believe it is probably the best sweetener for diabetics - at least for certain things you want to sweeten. The liquid version actually lowers blood sugars (or is said to). They all taste a bit different as well so it pays to research and try different ones, look at the different brands and the ingredients etc as they have a lot of them out there! You only need a teeny tiny bit to sweeten as it is much much more sweet than sugar or splenda. I'll let you know how I like the one I ordered! Sandy Stevia Hi, Does anyone use Stevia? ...Or know much about it. Thanks, ~Lynn Quote

Guest guest Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hi Lynn, Here is the page I ordered from - (still had it open). If the link doesn't work, it is at www.iherb.com and they had the best prices. Lots to choose from! This seems to be a great site for supplements too. http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=iherb & query=stevia & .autodo\ ne=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.iherb.com%2Fnsearch.html Re: Stevia In a message dated 1/3/2006 7:08:53 PM Central Standard Time, skemp4@... writes: I'll let you know how I like the one I ordered! Guest guest Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I think I might be the only one who doesn't like Stevia. I used it only in liquid form but I quickly threw it out. It didn't taste good and something in the mix gave me a bad headache. Shandi Quote

Guest guest Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I had to look it up but it was the NOW brand of liquid Stevia. I threw out the bottle but maybe there is a label print out online. I want to say they added some kind of alcohol to it. Shandi Quote

Guest guest Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hi Shandi, Thanks - that helps. NOW brand does have an alcohol added version - they also have a non-alcohol version (says no bitter aftertaste). I almost bought the NOW brand but got a different one, can't remember which now, but it is good to know the brands that don't taste good. I knew I didn't want one with alcohol added. Perhaps if you tried the non-alcohol one it would taste better! Sandy Re: Re: Stevia I had to look it up but it was the NOW brand of liquid Stevia.
