Yes, this does help. Thank you! He definitely seems more comfortable.

He's fussed a bit, but no screaming and he's had them on for about 8 hours

now. He's even slept quite a bit in them. Thank God for this list or I

would have never thought the bar was too short and making him uncomfortable.

I checked out the link for " Instructions for Foot Abduction Orthosis " from

American Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. in Iowa City, IA that was on the link

for the page you sent. They said you measure the distance between the

center heel screws and this should be the same distance as the measurement

between the outside of the shoulders. This is where I have it set now for

and he is fine with it. He slept last night with no problems

too. He has them off now because I just gave him a bath, but he had them on

for just about 23 hours with no real complaints about them! Yeah!! He's

growing like a weed, so I will definitely be checking these measurements at

least every two weeks, just to make sure he's not uncomfortable.

Someone, either doctor or orthotist (probably orthotist) should be handing

out instructions like this to parents instead of not really telling them

very much at all. If we had gotten instructions like these ones, it would

have saved a lot of discomfort and us a lot of frustration

trying to find out what was wrong.
