Guest guest
they use a cat scan machine...you are placed on the table of the machine on your stomach...you need to be awake to do this cause you have to help with the breathing...as you breathe, your kidneys moves... they give you a shot in your kidney...it stings for just a minute...to deaden the area. Then they use a special instrument that is like a needle but it takes pieces of your kidney out...using the cat scan machine they position you and they tell you to breathe in and then hold your breath...then then insert the needle and get a specimen...they continue to do this until they get enough specimens...and you have to assist them with the breathing... Then you are sent to a room where they monitor your blood pressure and you have to lie still on your back for ten hours. This was the hardest part for me. The kidney biopsy did not hurt...i could not feel anything...but you have to lie still for that long so that you do not bleed...you can bleed to death from a kidney biopsy. So I layed still, still. For the next two weeks you have to be very careful not to lift anything heavy and stuff... It really was not that bad. I felt that the root canals at the dentists I had to get, were worse.
