Welcome Garry,

Nice to have a new man on board. As you probably know, 9 out of 10

lupies are females. Hope you don’t mind clucking with a bunch of hens. We have a nice,

friendly group. There is a lot of good information here too. We try to help

each other, encourage each other and listen to each others troubles too. We

also tease and joke some. You sound pretty sick, especially for such a young

guy. No wonder you are depressed! Actually though, depression is part of the

physiological condition of a lupus patient. It is chemical and there is certainly

no shame in that. A lot of us, including me are on depression and sleeping

pills too. Lupus also interrupts your REM sleep. Sorry I haven’t

welcomed you yet. I have been away from the computer for a week. Tell us more

about your family. Your wife must be nice.

Subject: Hello Everyone

Hi, My name is Garry . I live in Texas and am 34. I was

diagnosed in Nov. '99 with SLE. I also suffer from

raynauds, severe

depression, pleurisy, avascular neucrosis in my

left hip. I also

have anticoagulant lupus, migrains and of course a

history of TIA's.

I just recently had a pace maker installed and my

right hip

replaced. I am disabled and have been that way

since April '01. I

have a wife and 2 kids. My wife found this group

and thought that it

might help me out to get into a " support "

group. I am looking

forward to chatting with everyone.
