Below is a letter from my Mother- ( Kate ) - I asked her to write down some info

so I could give it to you and this is what she has given me so far.

I am diabetic have been for years. its not low enough , been on same insulin for

years and actos for over a year figuring i was insulin resistant. my abdomen

protrudes a lot and is getting worse. and I think that is one thing making it

very hard for me to breath, have to sleep sitting up.Just getting clothes on

makes me so out of breath. The doctor isnt pleased with my sugar readings being

close to two hundred or over usually under three hundred so he put me on two

other pills also to lower sugar, not helping much but is a little. My lower legs

from knee down is swelled up most of the time, and he said it is probably due to

the pills he put me on for the sugar. My left knee is bad sounds like bone

grinding cant bend that leg much, and when legs are swelled it is much worse for

the pain. I feel like he has me on way too many pills when they arnt doing much

to help. But with all the leg pain, i can still stand that more than the

breathing problem feels like the abdomen puts too much pressure on something,

feels like when one is in last months of pregnacy with all the extra bulge

pushing on something. Inhaler doesnt really help but keep trying it. cold air

seems to help and waiting it out sitting still. will include list of all the

pills. the accuprill is not for blood pressure that is good, he put me on that

because of protein leaking from kidneys said it doesnt help what already is

damaged but prevents it from getting worse. I am on so many pills im not sure

anymore what is for what.Oh yes and he put me on two water pills because of the

fluid in the legs (not helping)

Insulin Also coughing a lot and different people have told me a lot of pills

can cause that too.

The doctor has had me do two sets of lung xrays at different places and they

both said my lungs are clear.

I have been reading some of your text and suggestions that go

through- and wondered if you might e-mail someone off list for

me...... that I feel you might be able to give some suggestions to

help her feel some better.......
