Guest guest
Just about anything gives me heartburn, sometimes even plain water. I've started taking digestive enzymes which do help except that they are such huge pills that they sometimes get stuck on the way down and then that gives me heartburn <lol> Just can't win sometimes. Lynda (in the UK) Re: co Q 10 valerie, i noticed this with me...and just stopped taking supplements for a while..and it improved my digestive stuff. i've gotten a liquid vitamin now to take. i'm thinking i have leaky gut syndrome and/or malaborption (common with autoimmune disease)...and that may be why the supplements don't set so well. cindi

Guest guest
Someone on this list mentioned papaya so I bought some chewable tablets. I stopped taking prilosec. When I feel acid reflux or indigestion, I chew two tablets and they help immediately. I probably should take them consistently, but I forget until I have a problem! .....joan ================== Just about anything gives me heartburn, sometimes even plain water. Guest guest
I take selenium - without any problems. And I've taken Vit E for years - my gyny wanted me to take it for my fibrocystic breasts. I also take some others, but I have trouble with the big multi-vitamins!! I use progesterone cream. I'm trying to think of what else I take - Glucosamine - MSM. I know I can make myself crazy trying to figure out what is good to take and what isn't!! I'm planning on trying the higher dose of the CoQ10 - give it a try, anyway. I have DHEA, but when my levels came in normal, I didn't take it. Same with my iron. thanks! cRis Re: co Q 10 I am not real big on taking alot of supplements. Not to say they aren't great for some people, but I seem to have bad results with alot of them. I either get heartburn, or stomach pain, or intestinal problems from many of the supplements! The ones I take that agree with me I can often feel a real benefit from immediately, like DHEA, Progesterone & now Oestrogel. But the ones that have caused problems it was NASTY !!! I have tried many of the combo vitamins and just can't take them, I have not tried Co Q 10, am kinda scared to! I am trying some Selenium right now for my conversion problems. The first day I got heartburn ALL day even taking it with food, so I am trying 1/2 the tab which is 100 mcg and that seems to be OK. All I can say is with supplements, be careful. It is very easy to overdo with some of them, I have no idea about co Q 10 as I have not felt the urge to try it. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Thanks! I've been on lipitor. I did stop taking it - on my own, to see if some of my pains went away. To back up, I had been on Vioxx, and when I went off, my body threw one very big hissy fit. Besides that, I had been having some charley horses and other pains. My pcp doctor was convinced it was the Lipitor, until she did blood work, and it was normal. My Rheumy said that even if blood work is normal, the statins can still cause these pains. My pcp had ruled out Fibro pains because of the locations of my pains. Now -in my experiment, I just started to take the lipitor again last night. I'm going to see if these pains come back. My thyroid meds had lowered my cholesterol enough, but the dr. still wanted me on the lipitor. I was happy with that because I've read that it may be a way to 'ward off' alzheimers. I have alzheimers in my family. But, if it is causing me muscle problems, it isn't worth being on it. My rheumy wants me on a minumum of 100 mg of CoQ10, preferable closer to 200 mg. I'll go do the google search now! Cris Re: co Q 10 If you are on any statin, you MUST take at least 100mgs of COQ10 or you could be in BIG trouble down the road. Google STATINS and COQ10 in the same search box. > Has anyone had any luck with CoQ10? > My rheumatologist wants me to take it. > I already do, but I wasn't taking as high of a dosage as he > wants me to take. > He wants me to take it for my arthritus - which, > I believe, is at least partly, my thyroid. > > Cris > >
