And congratulations to your other son. Please take care of yourself, as you don't want another hospital stay. So sorry to hear you were so sick. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Actually, there is no one to blame. My son is a pro skater and was doing a stunt off a jump while they filmed him. He has done this same stunt endless times without mishap. However, this time his foot slipped and pushed down on the edge of his board which sent it flying up like a rocket into his face. There was no way it could have been known ahead of time and no way the injury could have been prevented. In all the years he has been doing skate stunts, none of us in the sport have ever heard of an injury like this. It can only be considered a freak accident. He is VERY lucky he didn't lose his eye on impact as the force of the blow was with the force of a hammer coming down on the bone. He is doing okay today.. in good spirits, although not happy to not be able to skate at all this summer. I am just happy that he is alive and well enough to COMPLAIN about it! Thanks for the congrats for my graduate. That one is actually a daughter on her way to University of Florida this fall to study orthodontics. I am praying there won't be surgery this week to interfere with her big night as she has worked so hard for her glory. She is Summa Cum Laude.. 4.2 average all four years. I am VERY proud of her. I already had to miss an awards banquet the night my son got hurt, so I am trusting God will put surgery on hold this week until we get through her big night. Thank you ALL for your prayers and concern. If you have skaters in your family or social circles, be sure to let them know to be aware this kind of injury can occur. Most don't think about faces, only ankles and wrists. Most would not be doing daring stunts like my son, either, but it could still happen if a kid hit the board wrong and it popped upwards. I don't want to see ANY kid have to go through this.. so we will spread the word to be aware from now on. Take care all.. and thanks again.
