Lorra, then you are lucky. It is so important to have a good support system. I am lucky too. Between neighbors, friends and family I get lots of support. But not many people are as lucky as we are.

Hope you start getting relief from the pain pretty soon.

Well, with 60 mg prednisone you'll be in the dump for a while. Sorry to say this, but unfortunately that's what this miracle drug gives you. I was on long term high dosages twice. First, many years ago when I was diagnosed I was on 60 mg for about 3 months and stayed on prednisone for about 6 years before I could get off it completely. Then a year and a half ago I was on 40mg for 6 months, and the only reason I was on 40 not 60 was because the doctor knew I would have a nervous break down if I was on 60. It took me over a year, but I was able to get off it in January.

Good luck Lorra. I know tear jerkers like Steel Magnolias really helped. My hubby knew if I was watching something about health problems and crying that meant I needed to let it out and he left me alone. Gross Anatomy is another one. Both for me where very close to home. In Steel Magnolias it's the kidney thing that I was so close to, in Gross Anatomy it's lupus in general.

We're here to hear you out whenever you feel like whining. We understand best what you are going through.
