Guest guest
, I have the mitchell shoes and we did not have any problems after the first day when I learned how to make the tongue flat. The sore may well be from a slight (or larger) fold in the tongue. In order to alleviate them you must flatten it out and stretch it so it doesn't fold when you are buckling the shoe. Make sense? Chris pressure sore? is now in the shoes, we started them last Friday and by the next day she had a little purple spot (pressure sore?) on her left foot. It is on the top by the clasp of the middle strap. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse but it isn't going a way either. I can't figure out what is causing it unless it is the clasp pressing in. How long do pressure sores last? How do I get rid of it? Anyone else with the shoes having this problem? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. Guest guest
My experience with pressure sores... they don't go away unless you take the pressure off. I don't know about the shoes, I am unsure as to how to help with the clasp causing this. Maybe moleskin? Or molefoam with the center cut out to take the pressure off the spot? (but stick this on the shoe rather than on her foot) Problem with those sores, they start like that little purple spot but when the skin comes off it's a real sore all weepy and needing to scab to heal over. If you get it now, it's more like a bruise that will go away. But you can't put the shoe back on if it's going to make the sore worse (I know it's not getting worse - but that's the general idea with these things and you never know when suddenly it's killed the top layer of skin from pressing and then... you have a painful sore which is not good). Personally, I'd let her out of the shoes for a few hours today and watch the purple go away while you work on stopping that spot from pressing so hard. Maybe stretch the straps (work them like you would for a baseball glove but with your hands) and soften them. I wish I could help more but I've never used those shoes. I only know that you need to do something now before you regret waiting and seeing. Good luck. Hopefully never *feels* the sore - lots of kisses are good :~} Kori Mama of Kenton - 6/98 Merek - 3/00 Darbi - 3/28/03 - Rt.
