Guest guest
Dear TJ, Out of the meds for pain you've listed I have taken Loratab and Xanax. Loratab was like a sugar pill to me - like oxycodone. Did absolutely nothing. Xanax, which is usually given to calm people - had it when I was having panic attacks - does absolutely nothing to me either. The Avinza shows as a morphine sulfate extended release tab. The fact that you are not getting adaquate pain relief means you are either taking the wrong drug or not enough of it. It looks like they are supplementing the Avinza with the loratab for breakthrough pain. Since you tolerate the Avinza it means you are opioid tolerant and could use any of the opioids. I see by the write up on rxlist.com that the avinza also comes in 120 mg. You may want to try that first before moving on to any other drug. You could also try the fentenyal patch (remember start at only the 25 and build up). There are also Fentenyal lozenges which are really lollipops and come in all different doses which you could try using for the breakthrough pain rather than the loratab. Since you apparently have stomach problems you may want to look in to using the patch and dropping as many oral meds as possible. Just some suggestions. Good Luck! Hugs, B. Guest guest
Geeze, sound horrible! Even when I was switched from vicodin to methadone, they had me take the regular dose of vicodin for a few days while starting the methadone. I had no symptoms at all. Except some pain relief, of course. I hope you are feeling better. Hugs,
