Guest guest
Christmas was actually not that bad for me. For one thing, the biggest meal of the season, lunch on Christmas Eve, was at my parents' house; and since my parents have been on Weight Watchers for about five years now, their meals are always very healthy. Christmas Day I managed to stick with just one Christmas cookie; and while dinner was steak and potatoes, I didn't eat any snacks that weren't fruits or vegetables. Go me! This upcoming week, though, is going to be tough for me. I have the entire week off from work (the University gave us two extra paid vacation days to make up for not having given us a salary increase in over five years, with no increases in the foreseeable future), but my wife doesn't. Even though my wife doesn't take the healthy eating thing as seriously as I am trying to, I still feel much more accountable when she's around. Typically, if I have a day to myself at home, it's far too easy to scarf down junk food and go out and get burgers for lunch instead of making something healthy for myself. I'm looking forward to the time off -- I got some great movies and books for Christmas, and I have quite a few projects I'm looking forward to -- except for the food thing. I hope that everyone is having a great Christmas and that your New Year will be a prosperous and healthy one.
