Re: University of Chicago drops leading child psychiatrist - anti-DAN! Leventhal

Leventhal's studies (1-37) show him to be firmly entrenched within the

*must* be genetic model, with a bias away from weak alleles of genes

with strong environmental ramifications (eg, GSH transferases). Dare we

hope that U Chi's new directions for autism will be less narrowly

construed? Dare we hope that healing the gut, optimizing nutrition, and

removing toxic metals and/or antivirals when indicated will not be a

priori in violation of a university's orthodoxy regarding autism? That

the staff at Pfeiffer will not be burned at the stake? Fired?

I am starting to sound like one of the conspiracy theory guys, but

does the University of Chicago receive a lot of money from the drug

companies for research? Or perhaps from organizations that would

believe things along the lines of the IOM report?

I saw another Uof Chi " doctor " on Jane ey talking about Asberger's a while

back. I don't recall a name, but she was head-firsting in the genetic theory. I

thought the show was a cream-puff written and produced by the drug companies.

Re: [ ] University of Chicago drops leading child

psychiatrist - anti-DAN!

Fired?

I think the U of Chi is the place that had to cancel the SSRI study because all

the kids and teens were committing suicide earlier this year. It helped prompt

the stronger FDA warnings as I recall..

[ ] Re: University of Chicago drops leading child

psychiatrist - anti-DAN! Leventhal

I am starting to sound like one of the conspiracy theory guys, but

does the University of Chicago receive a lot of money from the drug

companies for research? Or perhaps from organizations that would

believe things along the lines of the IOM report?
