Guest guest
Dr. Greidanus will be giving me a new right hip on March 9th. He will be giving me a new left hip in September. When originally discussed, it was going to be a Birmingham. He called me yesterday to discuss changing from the Birmingham to the Durom (Centrepulse). As long as I am still being resurfaced, I have no problem changing to the Durom! Dr. Greidanus is an excellent surgeon & I am excited to be his patient. He did say that the Durom gives better " radio clearance " - does anyone know what that means? Yesterday was my preadmission session at Vancouver General & it took 3 1/2 hours - that's alot of poking & prodding! I was very impressed with the staff. Looks like my hospital stay will be a minimum of 5 days because I live alone & will still have to deal with a very sore left hip.
