, How can they concern themselves with any form of mercury, now with

headlines on

mercury from fish and power plants, doesn't everyone want to know where the

doctors are

who actually test, diagnose and treat for mercury exposure?

I think they have a crisis on their hands for not doing anything for so long.

Listmates:

I'm sure we'll all be watching this closely. I'm also sure the

current controversy involving the FDA, hidden negative research

and an escalation in youth suicide after taking drugs like Zoloft

has the IOM in a panic. The same sleight-of-hand, of course,

took place at the CDC and the IOM with the supressed

Verstraaten report and other ignored research on infant

vaccines, thimerosol and their connection to autism and other

neurological disorders. I hope someone draws Elliot Spitzer's

attention to this, since he is the only official in government who

appears to be paying any attention to these issues.

While the FDA/anti-depression drugs controversy doesn't involve

thimerosol, it represents the first major crack in the facade that

government health agencies like the CDC, the FDA, the NIH and

the IOM are neutral parties whose sole task is to watch out for

the public health and interest!

Let's hope more newspapers, like the Los Angeles Times has

done, really investigate the self-serving links between these

agencies and Big Pharma - and the devastating effect they are

having on our children.

Does anyone have the actual (at least publicized/announced) agenda for

the Aug 23 IOM meeting? Perhaps the IOM's bigwigs are going to mimic

chameleons and become honest. Alternatively, perhaps those who

suppressed Verstraeten et al 2000 and have moved to block Geiers from

the VAERS database are merely going to plan a strategy of Inquisition.
