Met first non-Ponseti parent

Well, it finally happened. I met a mom whose child is the same age as

Zoe and had surgery on his clubfeet, performed by Zoe's first doctor,

no less. I was doing a presentation to my local MOMS group about the

Ponseti method and the Pieces of the World project to raise funds for

Dr. Pirani's clubfoot clinics in India

question spoke to me AFTER the presentation, not during it!

I know other people on this list had briefly mentioned how parents

who weren't aware of the Ponseti method and whose children went the

surgery route have a difficult time comprehending what you're saying

when you talk about a non-surgical approach. I'm so glad I had

a " heads up " , so when she kept insisting that surgery was the only

option for her child, I just bit my tongue. He has other health

issues, so I figured she had enough stress and guilt to deal with

without me adding to her load. I'm learning...

Just wanted to share a difficult moment that no one else but you all

would understand...
