Hate to beep in here. But I'm having so much problems with ataxia and this neurontin crap. Just called Dr. and going back down to just 300 tid. I'm frustrated. been feeling sick for almost a week. Can't breathe at nite gulping for air. And I asperated last nite. I feel like a mess. Waiting for my other dr. to call back. just talked with his nurse. I think I will feel a heck of alot better with lower dose of nasty stuff. I just can't handle it. Doc just called. have to take another shot of lasix. That makes sense. I'm so puffy. Just thinking out loud. I had that fluid build up in my lungs once before. Had to go to hospital to get rid of it. Wish me luck guys. going to spend alot of time in the womans room.

take care

Faith,

Thanks for the suggestion. My only problem is I have no non-RSD side, my rsd is in both hips, and both legs. I would love to sleep on my side again. My adjustable bed just works so great to keep my legs elevated without adding more pressure to my hips. So I guess we will have to tie my bed and mattress to the top of our care LOL.

-- Re: My pain level

Lin, I know what you mean about the pillows. I sleep with my foot propped up also to take the swelling down plus my foot is too twisted up to just have it on the bed. I figured out a way that works with me. I'll tell you how and you can try it if you think it might work for you. I can't stand to have anything touch the back of my heel so what I've done is I take one firm pillow, and put it long ways across the bed. Then I take a soft pillow and put it up and down like, on top of the other one. That way, my foot is elevated and if I bend my knee slightly off the side, I can have my foot just bearly off of the edge of the top pillow. Or if I lay on my non-rsd side, I tuck my good foot under the bottom pillow and my rsd foot is still being elevated without the back of my heel touching the pillow. I don't know how well I just explained that, but that's how I do it and it works for me. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you. Sleep well. Faith

JoAnn,

Did you read what Faith told me to try, that might work for you too. The reason we got the adjustable beds was so I could sleep in the bedroom. I have to sleep on my back, I can't sleep laying flat, so I put the head of my bed a little ways, more if my ribs hurt and I can put my knees and ankles up as high as it goes I also bought a metal frame that keeps the blankets from resting completely on my legs. But Faith's sounds great for keeping a heal off bed.

Well Faith just had to let you know I also cannot stand for my heel to have any weight on it. Hurts so much and just not sure how one handles keeping heel from laying on bed all night or during daytime. I keep thinking perhaps need some special foot/ankle doctor to see if perhaps there might be other injury to foot that the orthopedic doctors not found. So perhaps will go to doctor and not tell about rsd, block etc., just tell about first part of it and believed from first doctor might be rsd. Seems closest can get to being helped.

Well take care all. Hope your foot feel better today Faith and anyone else in pain. Hugs

Laurie,

Sorry haven't heard of it...but I believe there are other meds that block nerve pain out that are not ant-seizue meds...just not sure what they are...Hpoing you a quick recovery...hugs..GinnyRoepkelaurie@... wrote:

Ginny,

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I'm watching out for the pnuemonia also. That's what just about didme in June. I was on the ventilator. Feeling a heck of alot better today. Slept a little better last nite. I think it's just a matter of to much medication and the side effects. I don't handle siezure meds well and I need them, go figure. My gen dr. says there is a new antidepressant that helps with neuropathic pain. I think it starts with a C. any one heard of it?

Here's hoping your days are filled with less pain and brightness.
