The following is a message I got about Mike from a mutal friend of ours:

Anyhow. She said at the earliest, she would be home tommorrow, but I don't think I would count on this either.

She is seeing a nephrologist, as her creat and BUN are now out of whack, they are high.

Hopefully this is due to the bumex IV and push, etc.... As she did have normal kidney tests prior to this. We were talking how lupus/nephritis , chf , and diabetes can all cause kidney problems, and how the combo of the 3 could be a problem. But I told her I am remaining hopeful that this is because the kidneys are having to work so damned hard to eliminate all the fluids. So far they have removed 20 pounds of fluid, and that is a LOT of work on the kidneys in such a short period of time. So this really would make sense, as usually, not always, kidneys don't just blow, it is usually more gradual. But then one never really knows what can happen either as we know.

The nurses are treating her very well, so that is good. Got her in a comfortable air bed as well. She was in good spirits still on tues night when Trish and I visited her by phone, Weds she was weepy and very tired, and I could not get ahold of her on Thurs, and we were gone all day yesterday into the evening. I did get her a bit ago, and we talked for some time. She is very worried about the kidneys, but it was great to hear her voice, and esp great to hear her laugh too. I wish I was there in CA right now. She said she needed some cheering up today. And she was telling me about her roomate. lol....

The boys seem to be doing ok, been in to see her, and of course they are calling her as well. She has had friends and family in to see her also. Reesey is fairing better than Randy, although Randy is not really misbehaving.

Anyhow, that is the jest of most things. I will let you know more when I find anything out. I will be checking on her tommorrow after they get the tests back from the kidneys and 24 hr urine testing.
