This works great for wasps too. The soap coat them when they land for a drink and they cannot fly.

It also acts as a pretty good flea catcher as the oily substance in soap clogs their respiratory system. It is more efficient if you put the soapy water underneath a light - the warmth as well as the light bulb attracts more of all the pesky varmints.
