Hi,

First, would like to hear from anyone who is on or has tried Tramadol and

what do you think of it....and

Secondly, am especially wondering if *any* Canadians are on (or have tried

it) and **if** so...where is it available in Canada ???

(it seems(?) that it it still not available here in Canada...or at least

not here in B.C. (I called a few pharmacies)...no luck...I am

kinda surprised as it seems to me that it was a couple of years ago I

checked into this, so thought it would be here by now....

It does *appear* that one can get it on-line in Canada...but am not

interested in doing that route....(and likely that is still coming from a

U.S. source...

any info appreciated...thanks

Cheri

Hi Cheri!

I tried tramadol/Ultram but it didn't do anything for me. I know Lana is on

it. Cameron's boys use Ultram....

Maybe Jen or Lana will answer

Hi Cindy,

Both of my boys have been on tramadol - for 3 years and Josh for 1.5

years with a great deal of success. They have not had any side effects.

can adjust his dose up or down without problems. Right now he is

taking 50 mg four times a day. Josh takes 25 mg twice a day.

As far as I know it isn't available in Canada for general use.

Tramadol is still considered a research drug in Canada. Dr. Brown was

finishing off a research paper on using tramadol with children. I don't

know if it has been published yet but we see him again next week.

Since I am allergic to all NSAIDS - spontaneous hemorage with asparin,

naproxyn, dollobid etc. and anaphylactic to vioxx (which gave the best pain

relief I have had in years!). I would give a lot for a bit of pain relief.

Tylenol does nothing and codiene keeps me awake all night.

I hope this helps. I will let you know what I find out next week.

Cheri,

You need a prescription for this and a letter to the government supporting

it's use in you first.

Hi ,

If/when you find out about Tramadol at the next appt. could you

please email me (swiftygal_2000@...) or email to the list? I'm

verrrry interested in this drug. I too do not get along well with

NSAIDs. Diclofenac gave me the best relief but I had such a horrid

reaction to it even after I stopped taking it, it took a full month

for it to get out of my system. I have Percocet which I take for

break through pain on the horrible days but have to do without

anything most days. Im awaiting an appointment with a rheumy in

Ottawa and Tramadol is one thing I definitely want to bring up. I'm

also interested in trying Pennsaid which is, as I understand it, a

topical diclofenac cream that's suppose to have very few side effects

and easier on those sensitive to NSAIDs. We shall see!

I hope your boys' appointment goes well. I'm so glad that they are

getting decent pain management! I only wish something better could

be worked out for you too.

All the best,

-Rhea

Hi Rhea,

I will let you know how it goes but I wouldn't hold my breath about getting

it soon. Last I heard there was a limited research project for adults with

arthritis happening in , B.C.

I will post again soon.
