Guest guest
Hey TJ, Yeah the ER hasn't heard of EDS! The pretenders! Thanks goodness they gave her some relief temporarily. She may need an oral antibiotic when she sees your Doc on Wed. I just haven't felt well lately, so sorry I haven't kept up with the computer and all the messages. Have you heard from the Judge Yet? Hugs, Just had a phone call from my mother who is home > I'm gonna wring my dad's neck....... here I sat worrying and after the test they sent her home......... he didn't inform me of any of this.......... the phone buzzed about 10 minutes ago with mom's name on it and I just figured Dad's phone (battery) died- and it was definitely mom's voice. > > Whew what a relief........ relaxxxxxxxxing now- although she didnt really get much found out but that is ER for ya.......... > > Get this, this ER is where I spent nearly a year going back n forth and she told them her daughter was the one with VEDS- he asked what that was.... Said he's never heard of ehlers danlos- wow!!!!!! > > They even call me by name when they see me without looking at my chart and say everytime I come in- here's TJ again - the gal with ehlers....... and now this one forgot what ehlers even is? Definitely gotta get a CD to them.... geesh. > > Mom had the cat scan done- and they see nothing wrong- no tumor anyhow- said it is something to do with her diabeities and gave her a big shot of lasix and an antibiotic- so at least she will have had the cat scan and the blood tests done before she see's my doctor on the 12th which will be a bit helpful to him - I'm sure........ at least a tumor is ruled out....... > > She sounds fine- but was up all night long because of this sore throat and stuff........ so hopefully now she will be able to rest- they are also giving her a stomach pill- she doesnt know the name yet- dad went to get the scripts....... So- hopefully she gets the rest she needs- the antibiotic starts working and she'll have a better doctor on the 12th to help find out what all is going on. > > See- had that other doctor given her an antibiotic when she went to him- she wouldnt have had to go through what she went through this morn. > > I think I'll be able to get a couple hours sleep now myself- because i'm so relieved that she's home...... so am off to go try that. > > Hugs to all- Happy Mother's Day- > TJ > >

Guest guest
Hey Lana, Well there were no plans. Larry had to work. We'll celebrate next week. When we got married we were so tired after the wedding we waited until the next weekend to go to the beach on our honeymoon. So maybe next week we can sneak off to the beach for a day or so. Just don't know, one of the other cats, Pooh Pooh is on Chemotherapy now. She's only 3 years old. Love, Re: Just had a phone call from my mother who is home > > > > Hey TJ, > I got Larry's bad cold plus the same old EDS stuff. I surely hope your Mom > feels better. Best wishes on Wed. Guest guest
Ooooh, poor little thing... Give her a cuddle from Peanut and I... Peanut sure knows how it is to be really sick, she was so sick I was afraid I would lose her last year because of her Canine Colitis. And it was a real possibility, as she had violent vomiting and bloody stools for months. It calmed down a bit in between, but then she got really sick again. The last time, before they finally found out what was wrong with her, she was really sick all hours for 14 days. During the day only, she could vomit 8-9 times and also go poo as many times. She was in so much pain it was awful to watch her. We were awake half the night every night, the two of us. Luckily I was home on a sick leave at the time, or it would never have worked. She does have an episode now and then, but most of the time she is pretty OK now, and that without real medication. She is on a special diet food, an intestinal formula kibble, and gets probiotics also to help with her stomach flora. Those two together is like medication to her. She comes running if she feels a bit bad and I say " Peanut, come get your Yoggy num-num " . She knows it helps her. She gets a bit every day and then a bit more if she feels bad. The only symptom she has all the time, is fatigue. She sleeps a lot more than Shanti did. She is more like a puppy in that department, and she needs quiet mornings most of the time, no walk in the morning, just pee on a puppy pad or just go outside and do that and back in. I tried dragging her out every morning before work, because that is just what you do with a dog, but she hated it, she would shiver and cry and crawl up on my lap to snuggle up. So she is much better off being left alone then, so she can sleep as long as she needs to. Heck, I know how it is, so who would I be if I didn't recognize that? So instead of dragging her out, she gets to lay on my lap and cuddle for a while every morning when I have to go to work. When I have time off, we often sleep in, the both of us. She loves that, cuddles up in my arms and we go back to sleep even if we have been awake. She's such a little doll, I love her to bits and I am so happy that she is doing so well. I was so scared last year when she got so very sick, she wasn't even a year old. She will be 2 this June. We gotta have a party then, that is for sure!!!! I wonder if you can make a doggie cake out of dog biscuits with a cream made of yoghurt and dog chocolate? Hmmmm.... I am sure that you can!!!! Gotta try that... To top it off, I think I will have to convince the people at the local supermarket to offer slush with no fake juice in it for that day, just ice water, so I can add something nice she tolerates. She goes completely nuts when she sees a slush puppy, she loves them but can't have them anymore because of her diet. They just took the machine out after the winter, and I hoped she had forgot about them, but she crawled up on my lap in my high power chair, with no assistance, and stood on two on my lap crying out loud. A lady passed us and told me that I was cruel if I didn't let her at least have a bit, he-he... She understood how yummy she thought it was, that crying left no doubt, that is for sure. You should think I was being really cruel to her, she was so sad and cried as if she was in bad pain. I guess that getting no slush is really painful, because Peanut is a little doggy girl who loves yummy things, that is for sure.... When I went to Bergen to get her, the first thing she did, was stick her tongue into my coke bottle to have a sip... I hate having to be so hard on her with those things, because she really thinks it is awful, no doubt about that. But it is not worth it, just one little thing can make her have bloody stools the next day, it is amazing how little it takes to aggrevate that colitis... And colitis sure is no joke... Ooooh, I love her soooo much!!!! So I can imagine how awful it must be for you now with Pooh Pooh sick and all.... No fun at all when they get sick and can't tell you how they feel etc. It just makes it so hard... And there's nothing we wouldn't do to make them feel better.... This evening has been flying by. I have to get to bed early today, so it is about time I take Peanut out. I was so happy yesterday, it was a real warm spring day, what a relief. But today it has been a grey day, and I have been so cold. So I am taking my down jacket on now for our evening walk!!!! I would really like it if I could put it away for a few months now, but obviously not yet... hugs, Aase Marit > >Well there were no plans. Larry had to work. We'll celebrate next week.
