Guest guest
Hi Cindy(louwho), The cramps are through the arch of my feet, but will move up my legs if I can't get them relieved in a timely manner. They happen during the day, usually if I've pointed my foot (even if the toes remain flexed) for some reason. I can only think of one time I've ever woken with one, and that was on a day where I had several cramps in the same foot during the afternoon and evening, so I assumed the nighttime cramp was because I never quite got the muscle worked out back to normal. I used to get these cramps mostly when I was dancing on pointe (in case you aren't familiar with the term, that's in ballet when you dance on the very tips of your toes), but I stopped dancing several years ago due to injuries, so that isn't the cause any more. I'll take the bruise caused from pressing the center of the muscle over the pain of cramp any day! > Hi , I'll try to fill in where I can while Mike is gone. If the stretches are no longer enough to stop the cramps, you might try putting pressure in the center of the muscle and hold. If you bruise easily this might be a problem for you. Are your leg cramps happening only at night or during the day too? Cindylouwho >
Guest guest
, Give your self a foot massage. Start by using no lotion, releasing fascia, and using acupressure points. When you find a sore spot hold it and very slowly increase the pressure. Come out of the spot slowly, releasing the pressure gradually. When you feel you have done that, use lotion and massage the foot starting with light pressure and working up to a deeper pressure. Don't go deeper than what is comfortable. Be sure to include your calf, since it can get involved when things get bad. Hopefully this combination will nip it in the bud. Hopefully this can keep things under control till you see Mike.
