Guest guest
Aase - one easy and cheap thing you can do that might help is to the following: 1 cup sterile (mostly) water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda I like to warm it up. Then either use a neti pot (google search will provide pictures if you don't know what that is or I use an eye dropper - and rinse your sinuses with it. What I do is lean my head waaayy back (like - lie on your back with head hanging over edge of back - and head is basically upside down) and let it the solution drip in - I fill it up pretty full then move my head around so all the sinus cavities get a wash. You might feel some in the back of your throat - that's ok. Once cautionary note is to have a bunch of kleenex available - you are going to need it when you sit up and everything runs out! The doc that suggested this to me recommended putting the solution in your hand and snorting it - but that didn't work for me.
