I totally

understand the teacher BS. Last parent / teacher conference I had

this idiot English teacher tell me I was Stressing out by

expecting him to get B's . Well BOO HOO! My parent's expected A's!!!

And if I was stressing ...too darn bad! I could expect A's, but I

don't think he is capabale of A's He is capable of B's and it is

expected...(and I do get them from him) I just don't get these

teachers!

So i do understnad! Hang in there. Your a good Mommy and it will pay

off!

I stil love you! *hugs*

Have a great day!

I know Becky, you are so right. I completely

agree with you but I can't help it. I am so upset. This is really,

really, really the teacher's fault. She made the kids hate school and

she didn't teach them anything throughout the school year at all. I'll

give you an example. The third grade teacher always made sure they put

$ sings, ft, cm, in, and so on in their answers. Academically she was

the best teacher getting the best results from the kids and she always

had a smile on her face. Kids loved her, and she made sure to praise

them for all their hard work. When the weather was nice she told them

that they had to play outside for homework. She gave 1/10 the homework

this witch does but still, all the material for that year was completed

and kids remembered all of it at the end of the school year.

This year's teacher never paid any attention to

the $ sings, etc. Yet, when they had they trial finals last week she

took points away for not putting them in. Since there was a lot of

problems involving measure, and so on, it was a lot of points. How can

you expect it, when you haven't thought it all year long.

I know 5th grade teacher is one of the best

teachers. Strict (which I don't mind), but very fair and one of the top

academically. I hope she can get these kids to enjoy school again, if

only a little bit.

Now, parents really piss me off. They all

complain about this teacher, but only a few have the guts to try and do

something about it. I won't even comment more on that because it really

gets me mad that they won't try and do something about it.

Ok, you know it must be real bad when I'm

having nightmares about Sebastian's finals. HE'S IN FOURTH GRADE FOR

HEAVEN'S SAKE!!!!

He's almost done. Today is the last day. He

has the two worse, math and Social Studies. We studied for almost 4

hours with him yesterday, and this was just a review as we have studied

all this material for the last three weeks now. This is completely

ridiculous, don't you think. I was having a dream - I asked the

principle and the teacher to call me in immediately when the tests were

graded. When they called me in the whole faculty was gathered, with the

pastor of the parish. He was looking at Sebastian's math test and was

teasing me telling me, he did a mistake here, and there. I was really

upset. Finally he says to the faculty "should we tell her?". That's

when everyone got up yelled "HE PASSED" and started clapping their

hands.

I didn't expect these kind of problems at

least until High School. Don't you think this is f..... up?????? I will

definitely breath better now that we don't have to study anymore. Then

I'll just have to wait for the grades. He was doing real well at home,

but he folds under pressure. I tried not to push him too hard, but how

can he not be pressured when there was so much difficult stuff to

remember. He's only 9.

Mojo: Being just a pre-school teacher really doesn't give me the knowledge to say much about your'e little Teacher's BS. Well guess what. We have parent/teacher conferences too. In fact. This has been one of my favorite saying. I will hear at least 10 times on any giving conference. But You're pushing my child way to hard. He/she can't seem to keep up. What do you expect a 4 year older to do? Alot... And they can if only you expect that they can. Once a child hears a parent say. " They Are Not Able To Be an A Student... Who are they fooling? Them I fear. I always told my son that if he wants to growup and be someone. Then he has to expect more out of himself. As Parents all we can do is encourage. Let him/her push their learning. But to say your child shouldn't expect A's only B's Hog wash.... In know alot of B students. And Our History of our nation is full of B.. Student. Lincoln. Bush. Enstien, Edison. Graham Bell. And those B-Student made themself Important in our Country. BUT THEY WERE LACKING THE ONE THING, a parent who care about whether A's or B's will do..... A's all the way...................

Busy BUZZING AWAY....................

Oh Becky you are soooo right! What you expect from your kids is what you get! I heard a young girl in the store the other day call her misbehaving child a brat. I also believe that what you call them is what you get. I have been beating myself up about Justen wondering if we just expected too much from him, but I had a wonderful talk with his caseworker and therapist and they both said that even now when he is unstable, he still has great manners! He is polite to adults and uses table manners and does his chores plus extra. They said that we didn't expect too much and for now I have to believe them. It does make be proud that he is remembering to use all the things that we taught him even though we aren't there to remind or coach him. Funny how we can cling to the small things sometimes isn't it? Your sounds like a fine young man and you have given him a world that he would not have had. Give yourself a bunch of pats on the back right now okay?
