Nature-Throid™ and Westhroid™ are natural thyroid hormone products derived

from freshly excised and promptly frozen porcine glands. They are hormonally

identical. Westhroid™ was originally bound with cornstarch, which was found

to cause sensitivities in those who have food allergies. Realizing this, we

made Nature-Throid™ which is bound with microcrystalline cellulose, a

hypoallergenic binder. Nature-Throid™ is more suitable for patients who

suffer with reactions to regular binding agents and fillers.

Each batch is assayed in many ways including USP, for consistent content and

dosage. Due to stringent FDA regulations, T3 and T4 content must always be

within strict parameters. Any type of deviation from this would prevent the

batch from being released. Visits may be made by the FDA to ensure full

compliance with their regulations. To this day, neither Nature-Throid™ or

Westhroid™ has ever had to be recalled.

Nature-Throid™ and Westhroid™ are prescribed to patients who have been

diagnosed with a thyroid disease. These products are measured in Grains.

Each Grain is equal to 64.8 mg containing 9 mcg of T3 and 38 mcg of the T4

hormone.
