Guest guest
>can't afford a person to come in. The last estimate I got was over $100 per week, and that's way too much! I know where you're coming from... One thought - do you have any "marketable" skills? No, I'm not saying go out and get a job but think what you can do that other people can't but wish they could. For example, when cash was tight (not that it isn't again now!), I had someone to watch the dogs when I was away at shows. She'd keep track of her hours. This was before computers were common in every home and she didn't even have a typewriter and wa in college where term papers etc. had to be turned in typed. So I'd type her term-papers. We just traded hours for hours since both were basic minimum-wage type jobs. I used to get one friend of mine to do sewing and ironing in exchange for my doing her filing and typing of household papers/letters etc. and another one did my heavier cleaning and I groomed her dogs at no charge.
