my ride

Well as yall all know, my parade was cancelled last nite due to

thunderstorms We were rescheduled to ride behind two other carvial

krewes. We were told to go to the staging area at ten am. The parade

begins at eleven am...well we went and we counted,,,one, two, three,

four, five, seven....huh....where was six...where was my float....we

looked and looked no sylvester and tweety bird number six float...we

were told that it had broken a rim and they were attempting to fix

it...at the prestaging area across town...well we were pissed off to say

the least. After an hour of watching the other floats pass by and me

catching ten footballs...i looked the opposite way of the parade and out

of the fog I saw the most beautiful sight....SYLVESTER THE CAT....it was

our float...all i did was scream SYLVESTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...realize i am

the quiet one....and i started running to the float...well those ladies

thought i really had lost it....we had twenty minutes to climb in the

float and open our boxes of beads and get ready for the ride...

My daughter Chi, was outrageous...some of the things she did she should

have been arrested for. I just watched...oh well...at least she stayed

dressed this year. hehe...

I love to see daddy's with their kids at a parade...the is what I look

for...and the people that are in wheelchairs and the elderly.

There was no sun today so I did not put sunscreen on...but now I wish I

had...the rash is back...and the kidneys hurt. but it was worth every

second of it.

We needed this parade to roll this year..idk if you realize what it cost

each rider to ride..dues are three hundred dollars and you can really

spend the money on the throws...I spent one thousand dollars this year

and I did not have enough. I plan on buying next year's mardi gras

beads beginning on March 1. This is an all year planning event. I

hope to do more with my krewe this year...I was so sick last year and I

did very little.

Well another year is over....and tomorrow Lent will begin...but it was a

wonderful Lundi Gras and Mardi GRAS>>>I just want to ride at nite next

year. chippy
