I go tomorrow night for the MRI. I was trying to get my followup with the doc

moved up but as of this morning, there were no appts. available. She has very

limited hours at this clinic. I can't be lieve that there is nothing wrong

but I won't be surprised if it doesn't show anything just because of the way

things have been going lately!!

MRI'S are definitely better than CT's of the knees. You could also have an

MRI arthrogram of the knee, but you Dr. has to request it. It will show the

knee better than a regular MRI. Why won't your Dr. do a diagnostic

arthroscopic surgery on your knees? It's obvious to me you are telling us

the truth when your knees hurt so bad. Surgery often shows more damage than

what is seen on the MRI images too. Good Luck, when in doubt you can always

MRI'S are definitely better than CT's of the knees. You could also have an

MRI arthrogram of the knee, but you Dr. has to request it. It will show the

knee better than a regular MRI. Why won't your Dr. do a diagnostic

And meanwhile, all those months of pain and expense and probably more damage

to your knee!

Ain't that the truth!! I fell and injured my ankle 3 years ago.

They finally did an MRI after 4 months of the pain not getting any

better. All it showed was a little synovitis. Several months later,

I had arthroscopic surgery, and lo and behold, I'd lost 60% of the

cartilage, and parts of the bone were showing wear too! The first

thing the surgeon said to my mom (who was waiting during the surgery)

was " no wonder she's been in so much pain for so long! " This did not

show up at all on the MRI!

And meanwhile, all those months of pain and expense and probably more damage

to your knee!
