HELLO TO EVERYONE }: I JUST READ LINDA'S POST AND TODAY I HAD A REALLY BAD DAY WITH DOCTORS TO! I FINALLY GOT IN TO SEE A RHEUMY, WHICH THE LAST TIME I SAW ONE I THOUGHT IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! BUT TODAY! LIKE LINDA I GOT MAD, DEPRESSED, I DID NOT EVEN GO TO WORK! AND NOW AM WONDERING WHAT IN THE HECK AM I SUPPOSE TO DO ? THIS RHEUMY WAS SO RUDE TO ME! AND EVEN THOUGHT I DID NOT HAVE SLE ! HE WANTED NAMES OF DOCTORS 25 YEARS AGO ! LIKE YEAH RIGHT WHO CAN REMEMBER EVERY DOCTOR WE ALL SEE ! HE HAD NO RECORDS ON ME , AND OF COURSE DID NOTHING FOR ME ! SO WHAT ARE THESE DOCTORS FOR ? ANY ANSWERS ? THANKS SHIRLEY

C., First thing, CALL YOUR PRIMARY and insist on being treated properly, or you will go public

with his failure to provide basic medical care to a patient in transition, thereby endangering not only

your disease status, but your life. Then, follow up on it. Report this boob to the AMA, and file a

complaint against him post haste. Tell the "robot phone operator" the same thing at the Rheumy's

office. I betcha you'll get action there, because the doc is probably unaware of your need for a more

immediate appointment. His staff are taking the calls and making notes for him. They won't forward

anything that isn't put to them by another doctor...and YOUR PCP is an asshole. Tell your PCP that

you need for HIM to make an emergency appointment with the Rheumy, NOW, and you might

reconsider reporting him to the medical board. This is not acceptable, honey. Want I should come and kick some butt??? Love, MM

You know what C? That DR knows that if he wanted to, he could call that rhuemy and let him know that you need to see him sooner and he would. That is what I would tell his office when you let them know how you did. That new DR doesn't know you from anyone, but your pc does and shame on him. Ohh that makes me so mad! Wish there was something I could do to help you,

First, does the rhuemy's office have an option on their voice mail "If you are a Dr. calling, push #--"?

If so, push that button & see if you get a living person. I have done that several times. When they say "you aren't a Dr.", I tell them "no, but I'm alive & need to speak to someone living & evidently you don't return messages". Then, you can get adamant with them. Second, call your insurance company & discuss the whole situation with them. Explain how sick you are, the fact you feel that you are being given the run around by both Dr.'s. AND Again, BE ADAMANT! I can guarantee you that none of them cares enough to do anything for you. I found that out years ago with hubby's situation. But I did get results when I started making daily calls to the insurance & to the Dr.s offices using their Dr.'s only line!

I know how frustrated you are, been there, done that, many times. Just don't give up.

I am so sorry that you're having so much trouble with this asshole. YOU HAVE to report him. You don't know what your condition will turn into. HE HAS to do what he took an oath to do. Is there any other doctor (PCP) who can treat you?? he can't do that to you. C'mon bring out that "wolf" in you and bite that doctor right in his ASS. and you make sure you let him know that he's playing with your life and making decisions based on personal issues that aren't prefessional. if you don't report him I will. and i will bug ya for his name and address. i wish you luck. <3ann

I'm at my wit's end with my doctors......My Primary care Doc. doesn't want to prescribe prednisone for me anymore.....he said that he only agreed to treat me for Lupus till I got another Rheumatologist.....and the Rheumatologist is not taking new patients untill June.....You absolutely cannot get to talk to anyone at his office .....it is all `Voice Mail'......and tells you that your Doctor has to send your information, and why you need a Rheumatologist.....then when the Doctor reviews your information he will get in touch with you for an appt...........We did all that last month.....and When I called Dr. Ohman's office for refills for Prednisone.....he accused me of self medicating, because I want to taper off the prednisone slowly, and he is not comfortable with giving me enough prednisone to taper.....he wants me to drop 10mg. at once!

His nurse told me to have my pharmacy fax my prednisone records to his office....then to get on the phone with The Rheumy....Dr. Kier....and be `ADAMANT' that he makes an appt. immediatly to see me!

How in the Hell are you supposed to be Adamant with a Voice Mail system....no one will call me back, and he isn't taking new patients untill June anyway. I'm supposed to call my Primary Doc. tomorrow and let them know what I was able to do `Being `Adamant with the Voice Mail System of Dr.Kier'

All day today I have been making the rounds of emotions from anger to depression to being downright scared that I am Going to find myself totally without a doctor to treat me......and I am going to crash big time!

Oh how I miss my old Doctors.....they worked together in one clinic,and each one knew what the other was doing,and would never just drop a patient!

Makes me wonder why we try so hard to keep a good attitude and keep on going when we have no support or respect from the medical community! Hi Ann,

I am going to report my PCP and try to find another one......the thing is,that I have to use the Network of Doctors in my insurance Co...and he was the only one taking new patients at the time that my old PCP dropped my insurance.I am going to check to see if there is another one available now......

BUT I DO HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS .... The Rheumatologist's Office called this afternoon with an appointment for me......JUNE 11.......So I guess all the crying, screaming, ranting and raving finally got my PCP's nurse to use the Doctor's line to get past his Voice Mail System ......which she should have done a week ago......instead it was all left up to me....I know now that if need be in the future that I can use that same Doctor's line to get through.......I refuse to be put through all this stress again.....I guess we learn a little more each day about not only to cope with being so ill, and not being taken seriously by our doctors.......but also how to navigate the sea of Incompetence that seems to want to drag us under

JUST PLEASE......cross your fingers for me that this new Rheumatologist will be a knowledgeable, professional, and Caring doctor.

Now I just need the A.C. fixed in my car.....it went out yesterday when I took it to get new tires put on.....My son is coming over this weekend to see if he can fix it....

And I need my son in law to come over to work on my computer, " Lamar".......Poor Lamar has been ailing for some time now.....and needs some major magic ......
