Sue, I don't have any advice, but maybe Schoenberg does? Good luck!

HI Gang

It's me again and it looks like we are moving (drum roll

please.........................) to the Boston area. Either in the city or

suburbs. MY husbands

job came down to the Seattle job which we would have loved living but it was

a

contract job. The other job is for a huge company where he would as part of

a

group of Top Gun computer consulters and would fly around the world where

ever

needed to solve computer systems problems. I think he should feel honored

because his self esteem has been way down the last few years and I think

this is

a compliment. Anyway, since I will be in and around Boston......I am dealing

with EDS< Fibro and the biggie a non-union of a fused subtalar joint with

possible osteomyelitis (I Had mycobacterium fortuitum infection there 14

years ago

and they think it may have returned.)

0h, I have been to three university hospitals and got 3 different stories on

my ankle. I figure since I'm headed for Boston has anyone had any

experiences

with any of the Boston hospital or orthos (especially foot and ankle

specialists) Please please pleasae share your stories with me. I am so

afraid I may

lose my leg and the thing that bothers me is the pain keeps increasing and

no one

is taking this seriously except the original infectious disease doctor who

is

now out of the picture. What ever this ends up to be I know it's going to be

a long road so I want to be at a comfortable place with nice people, Thanks

for any leeds because I am in such pain that even on morphine and 10 mg

strength

percocet my leg throbs up to my groin.

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give me.

Hi Sue,

I can't comment on docs at all, being in Norway... But I just wanted

to mention to you that I saw a programme on TV here a long time ago

where they used hyperbaric chamber treatments for people with

different problems. One was serious " crushing " fractures which would

not heal. I guess such fractures can be compared to what is going on

in a joint which has been operated on to fuse it. If you do a search

on line, you will end up with lots of results. I once wrote one to

ask about this, and they said that it has been used for this kind of

thing and that it may be something to look into re. non fusion of a

joint. So maybe you could try this and see if anybody knows about

something and also see if you can find one in the Boston area?

Anyway, just wanted to mention it to you, in case it may be something

for you... After all, it is a really non invasive treatment, and if

there could be a chamber near you, maybe... At least it is something

that may be an idea to look into and ask about...

BTW, which Sue are you? Sue K.? The e-mail address is not familar...

And I am not even sure about Jake's name, my memory is so bad... :)

Lots of Yorkie kisses to you and Jake from Peanut, my little 1 1/2

yrs old Yorkie friend... She is mom's girl for sure!!!! Right now she

is sleeping on my lap, under my blanket, and I am sitting her typing

in a really ackward position, but what don't you do for your little

pooch? :)

hugs,

Aase Marit :)

Hi,

Probably for the best. Even though Seattle is a fabulous city, and the

surrounding area is absolutly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been

(and I've been all over this world) it's so damn wet here you'd probably grow

webs between your toes.

Dark, dreary, cold, wet, wet, wet.

Boston sounds better to me!

Now I'm gonna hear it from the Uggen - family! I just know it! Cause

it's sunny today, and suppose to be around 70. That sounds great, but the

pollen here is so high, you can't breath. With the wettness and the pollen, I'm

about to embark on a business opportunity. People around here surely will be

wearing full body bubbles to protect them from the air outside. It's a sure

thing!

Anyway, unless you like sloshing around in puddles, wet hair, ripping moss out

of your lawn every spring, spraying your house with bleach weekly for mold, dark

dreary days, you'll be happier in Boston. Oh, and your dog won't need a bath

every day in Boston!

Can I come along?

Hugs,

Hi ,

You gave me a really good laugh with your description of Seattle. It

sure sounds like Bergen in Norway, it rains all the time there. The

city is surrounded by " the 7 sisters " , 7 mountains that makes it rain

always... It rains a lot here too, but not as bad as there. I hate

rain!!! Luckily Peanut hates rain too, so I don't have to be out more

than we have to for quick pee-trips on such days. Somebody should

invent a doggie umbrella that you could fasten to the dog's back, Pea

sure would have loved that!!! There is a doggie umbrella, and if I

walked instead of using a chair, I would have gotten one for her. It

is connected to the leash...

I just had to ask you about the full body bubbles you mentioned...

What is that??? Were you joking???

Aase Marit :)

Not at all, I agree -- the whether here is NOT EDS friendly. Coming from

Alaska, the rain is better for me than the snow, but I agree that the achy

joints and gloomy weather can be difficult. I just love the culture,

theater, and other things about living in Seattle that it makes up for the

rain.

haha

Yea, I was joking about body bubbles. My family has been catching every single

bug in the air lately, I've been thinking we need to live inside a sterile

bubble to stay healthy. I blame a lot of it on our horrible climate here in

Seattle.

We have a lot of festivals here in Seattle during the summer. You know - music,

arts and crafts, and so on.

The funniest tee shirt I've seen here for a festival is for " The Seattle Rain

Festival 1 January through 31 December "

Yea, and that's a joke. There really isn't a rain festival.

I shouldn't be complaining today, cause it's sunny and fairly warm today.

is even laying out in the sun in her bikini. I should go out and get

some sun on my face at least.

But, the big joke here is that you don't tan, you rust. haha

Ha ha, - I liked that! Only in MY case, I'd rust first, and

then PEEL! LOL!
