Guest guest
e, I really am sorry that your having so many and have had so many problems. But, your not alone. I got a call two nights ago from my surgeon telling me that the tissue sample they got when I was in the ER is gone, vanished, and no one knows where it is. He also states that without it he wouldn't feel comfortable doing a vaginal hysterectomy on me as he wants to be 100% certain it isn't cancer or anything else bad. Then goes on to tell me the on call OB/GYN who could of really hurt me said she HAND CARRIED the tissue sample to the lab. I interjected and said no she didn't and my husband even remembers that it was sitting on the counter when I was discharged from ER. So, in light of all this, I am furious. Though a more rational part of me wonders if maybe there were two specimen cups, but who knows. I only mean that in todays society, we are sue happy. Been on that end of the stick as well in the horse world over a lady who considers and brags she is a 'breeder " with NO prior knowledge or experience. Long story. If you feel so strongly about your case then go talk to a lawyer. But there has to be a cap on the amount we can sue for except in certain circumstances. As I was told last night by a friend, hospitals and doctor's screw up. Its up to us to be informed, asked questions over and over, call, do a lot of research. For the Lupron, I am just very relieved that I have stopped bleeding after all that I have gone through this past week. I would take the shot again and NO this wasn't the one month shot, this was the three month at a time shot that the hospital gave me. I honestly didn't know it came in a large dose like that and will ask my doctor when he calls again. I have already asked for another office visit to get a tissue sample of my cervix and all so I can go ahead with my surgery. As for me and children, my PERSONAL opinion for myself is that in my mid to late 30's I felt I was too old, and not old as in what we would use for the elderly, but to be around, able to do things, keep a job and have kids. By this age I wanted to be able to do a few things for myself and not worry about a baby. But I am selfish with my time sometimes, and please, no angry words, as this is a personal view for myself, no one else.
Guest guest
Hi e, To me, the reason for suing is to prevent the doctor from doing the same harm on others. I've read many stories about bad doctors. Is is legal that we list their names and cities on this forum? After all, we have all the facts. Guest guest
, No one here needs to defend their choice of not wanting children. Nor does anyone have to defend their right to choose hysterectomy. What's important is that whatever one chooses, they do so with their eyes wide open. If someone wants to choose hysterectomy with all its risks instead of a less invasive procedure, that's up to them. Doesn't make sense they would want to do that, but again it's their choice. Not all women come into the group knowing the downsides of hysterectomy, because they rely on their docs, and the docs don't tell 'em. Most women are happy to learn that hysterectomy is only necessary if there is definitely cancer (not possibly but definitely). How many women would come into this group wanting hysterectomy if their doctor told them they really didn't need it, that myo or embo was really a better option?
