Guest guest
Kelley, When I have unexpected guests (I use that term loosely.), and the house is a mess, I just let it stay that way. I strip the bed and put a pile of fresh linens on it and let the "guest" make the bed. If they want a meal at a certain time, I point them toward the kitchen and tell them to help themselves. AND, if they ask for something I would have to get up and search for, I tell them, "My house is your house." These people do not deserve any special attention from either you or your hubby, and the sooner they are taught that, the better. YOU do not need to stress out over the impending visit, just get the rest you need and leave it at that. Also, I have extensive experience in finding comfortable ways to sleep when camping in a tent, so let me make a couple of suggestions, 'k? 1. If you have a couple of sheets of plywood around, or can get them, place some full boxes or crates on the floor in an 'X' pattern, one on each corner and one in the center, and lay the plywood over them. Then put your air mattress on top. That gives you a platform at knee level so you can just sit on the bed and get on and off it much more easily. I did that for years when camping. 2. Take the air mattress back, and get one of those camp beds that has a frame like those camp chairs that fold up and fit in a bag. They make them in twin and queen sizes, and they are very good. I have one in my shed where the camp gear is. If we lived closer, I'd lend it to you. I got it at K-Mart for under $50. 3. Rent a double roll away bed from U-Haul or someone like that. I have also done that when tent camping. I go to the nearest town, rent the bed, and roll it into the tent. Works for me. Good luck, and I will be thinking about you and hoping they decide to turn around and go home after one night. Loving hugs, MM
