I have been suffering with the same thing for quite some time. I have IBS and recently decided that it must be caused by that but now I have my doubts. For me, I usually get a sharp pain in my right thigh BEFORE the ice-pick. I know exactly what you mean about the shocking pain of it. Yesterday, I couldn't even lean in the forward direction. I spent most of the morning, laying on the couch trying to stay as straight as possible. It's been years of this and now I'm getting these 'attacks' on a regular basis. Let me know if there's anything that you have found works for you. Onale I also feel like I have an ice-pick! sticking into my backside and if I make a wrong move it sends electric shocks down my rt leg.
