WOW !

Great news about school.

I am a firm believer in hanging in there till your fingers are blue from the

grip!

Looks like you did and it surly paid off.

Keeping in touch with this man is essential now you know. He will be the

communicator to the powers that be and that is such a feather in your cap!

About the smoking ... it will happen when you least expect it to. Don't beat

yourself up over the setback...

Well, I've got good news, finally!

I finally got in to talk with 's school principal. Wow - what

a great guy!

He basically said that if any student in his school deserved special

accomodations from the school, it's .

He used to be a pharmacist, so he knows a bit about health problems.

Anyway, we worked out this plan -

is now in homeschool. She is going to start by doing a

correspondence course through BYU, and then get into the internet

academy. He is doing the paperwork for an IEP, and said that he's

sure she'll qualify, and the school will pay for all her courses.

She can continue the internet academy as long as she wants, and go

to school to do electives, or any other courses she wants to do.

The school will make sure she has anything and everything she needs

to be successful.

He is also going to get her a tutor, paid for by the school, to come

every week to make sure she stays on task, and for any help she may

need.

I'm amazed. I've been told you usually have to go through a lot of

trouble to get the school to help you. Well, he came right out and

told me all this stuff, and said that deserves it. Every

grade in every class that she has from work done in the class, is an

A, but - She now has F's in every class because of all her

absences. The teachers wern't giving her the work she needed to do

to keep up.

So, HUGE relief. I was afraid I was gonna have to homeschool her,

and go it alone. I wasn't sure I could do that. Now, I know it

will work out.

I was told this principal was a great guy. Even by some of the

kids. I wasn't so sure, cause it took him a day and a half to get

in touch with me, after 3 messages. But, he sure is great, and

behind 100%.

As you may have guessed, my stop smoking attempt has failed for the

moment. This weekend was a bad one, and I didn't post anything

cause i was too bummed out. And, I have a terrible cold.

still has bronchitis, and has it now too. I think may

be getting it, cause she is starting to get that horrible cough.

I am going to get someone in here to test for toxic mold. The

school nurse told me that sometimes happens around here, in the

pacific northwest. I'm wondering if maybe we have something growing

somewhere in this house that is making everyone sick all the time.

It's probably gonna cost a fortune, and I don't know if it's covered

in our homeowners insurance.

First, I'm gettin gour furnace cleaned (new filters and all) and our

ducts cleaned.

So anyway - success with the school! He was so great. I fell so

relieved!!!!!

Hugs!

I'm still waiting for my stop smoking hypnosis tape. I'm putting a

lot of faith in that! Fingers crossed!

I am so glad for both you and !!!! What a huge relief this must be for

both of you. Her principal certainly sounds like a really decent person and one

who has compassion.

Way to go!!!!!!!!!!

That's great news about . I'm really glad everything is working out. I had

a real hard time in school too and I can totally relate with 's

difficulties.

I also wanted to mention, I used to get bronchitis all the time. Every time I

caught the slightest bug, it would turn into bronchitis. Now, since I quit

smoking, I rarely get the sniffles never mind bronchitis. In fact, right now is

the sickest I've been since I quit two and half years ago. I have a head/sinus

cold and my head feels like it's going to explode. A lot of it is due to the

headache that I've had from my neck for the last few weeks. So between the pain

in the back of my head from my neck and the front of my head from my sinuses....

well, I'm not whining!! I just wanted to send some more encouraging words for

when you quit smoking again! My lungs thank me all the time!

Have a good evening!

> Well, I've got good news, finally!

, I'm so happy for you AND for ! There are some good

people in the world yet, huh? I hope it goes well for her, and I'm

sure it will! If I were you, I would write a letter to the school

board, and copy the principal, stating how kind and helpful he was,

and you're sure the school is a success because of him! That way,

it will look good for HIM, and he will continue to want to help you

in any way! They need to keep someone like that, as there are far

too many educators out there that just don't give a damn!

I think the cleaning of the ducts and testing for mold is a

wonderful idea, ! I'll be anxious to hear if they find

anything.

Don't beat yourself up over the smoking thing, , I believe

every time you try, you'll have more success. I know how hard it

is, believe me, as I'm still not 100% successful! But I finally had

to stop beating myself up, as that made me want to smoke even more

for some stupid reason! As it is now, I only have a couple a day,

and sometimes I go a week without any. Why not quit? I know, I ask

myself the same thing; but just knowing I can have one once in

awhile helps me. Dumb, huh?

Good luck with everything!

Love Lana

Hi,

Thanks.

I don't have bronchitis. My kids do. I just have a head cold. Actually, I

think it's from allergies.

But, you are right. I didn't smoke for 4 days, and I noticed a difference in

that short of time.

I'm still trying. Not gonna give up.

As for . Well, I hope everything will work out with our new set up. She

won't have anything to do for a few days, at least until her book arrives for

the first english class she's gonna enrol in with BYU.

But, she's sick now again anyway.

I'm just a little scared we don't have good enough discipline. But, we are sure

gonna give it a good try!

haha.

I often think - " I wish I could just have one a day - like after dinner " . But,

I'm an all or nothing kind of girl. I'll have to quit totally. I'll get there.

I can't expect everything to change overnight, even though I'd like it to.

I've been told by so many people that smoking is probably the hardest thing to

quit. Someone told me it's more addictive than heroine. I'm starting to

believe that.

Good thing I won't have to sell my first born child to get some smokes, though!

Hi,

Thanks.

Yea, you can bet I'll be writing to the school district about the principal. I

always make a point of giving praise for a job well done, instead of just

complaining about the bad stuff (which I usually let go). I do it all the time.

You get much better service and help all around that way!

I'll stop smoking. I hope it will be soon. I'm putting a lot of faith in the

hypnosis. Oh, and the gum!

Hugs,

Congratulations on your success with the school!! I'm so pleased to

hear that the principal was so willing to accommodate. That is the

way this should have been all along. I, along with others in the

group, look forward to hearing how things progress with the

homeschooling and other accommodations. It is wonderful the school

agreed to pay.
