I like to know what to expect from a Dr. before I go. I've had way

too many people dismiss me with a " too bad for you " attitude. If

anyone has any tips of what to expect, please let me know.

Hi Onale,

We've just been discussing this on the list. See my post regarding

headaches/back pain and son's replies to me.

Onale,

Lana is going through this same thing right now.. Yes you will probably need

to see a spinal surgeon. They may recommend an MRI of you cervical spine

(neck). As for the Rheumatologist I saw, they did a boat load of blood tests

and then referred me to NIH. Best of luck and keep me posted!

Sincerely, S.

a lot of problems with my neck and it's causing bad headaches, etc. I saw my

Doc this morning and he took some x-rays and will be sending me to a spinal

surgeon.

Hi Onale, My son's Rheumy has started medications, referred to Drs she felt he

should see, sent letters to the primary as to what tests she wants ordered, and

tests his joints for arthritis and strength every time he sees her to see if he

has had changes. We see her every 6 months. I guess more than anything, I like

that I can ask her questions and she has some answers. She likes that we try

alternative medicine like massage, polarity and acupressure.

He also made me an appointment with a Rheumatologist for next month. For those

Thanks Cindy

I really appreciate that. If this doctor actually asks to see me again... it

will a shocker. Most of my

experience with specialists ends with them leading me to the door and me with a

big animated question mark over my head! ? I'm keeping my fingers crossed now.

Thanks again.
