Guest guest
Aloha! I haven't been online for more than a week now, so have had to simply delete many of the " digest newsletters " , jokes, etc. which I routinely receive, read, and greatly enjoy. My inbox was overflowing. That means that if I'm a list member/assistant manager/assistant moderator, or you didn't get an individual private reply to an email you sent me directly, I've been offline. We are still in Hawaii. We spent about 9 or 10 glorious days on the island of Kauai', then flew to Honolulu, O'ahu.....where flights were so full that we kept getting " bumped off " (remember, we must fly stand-by, but who's complaining?. We decided to stop wearing ourselves out watching planes take off at the airport which we couldn't get a seat on, so we just have made the practical decision to get a hotel for a few more days here on O'ahu. Hey, there are LOTS worse places to be " stuck " ! This will give us an opportunity to take the kids to Waikiki beach and to see Pearl Harbor (for those who haven't had the opportunity to see it, I will tell you that it is a VERY humbling experience--you cannot come away from there without feeling a whole new level of respect for our military). Since most of our clothes went on to Dallas without us, we made the most of the situation...and thoroughly enjoyed revisiting the International Marketplace in Honolulu for cheap clothes and neat (and shockingly very inexpensive) jewelry and souvenirs (like we didn't already have enough? LOL ....we already had to purchase TWO new large suitcases to carry what we " just thought we couldn't live without " on Kaua'i....I'm sure we'll get home and wonder, " Why the heck did I think I needed THIS?!?...LOL ). I have already sent a number of postcards to friends and my " family of choice " , but I did not have all addresses I needed/wanted accessible to me here (stored in computer at home, etc.). If you'd like me to try, as my time/opportunities allow, to send you a postcard from Hawaii, please email me your home address by private email....or call my cell phone (request the # by private email) and leave your home mailing address on my voicemail. If I've already mailed you a postcard, you likely haven't had time to receive it yet. Love, ~LoneStarRose~ (~~)
