I am having a problem like yours. And my right foot is so swollen, and has been for over a year now, that it is almost two sizes larger than the other foot so getting a pair to fit is impossible. And my toes rupture if I wear anything that even slightly rubs including slippers.

HI Felice and ,

I too have terrible swelling of my RSD leg and foot. It has been this way since injury in 1999. Some days are worse than others. I have just recently been able to put a shoe on, it was funny, almost like when a baby takes it's first steps. Everyone was so happy like it was such a big deal!! I have a pair of shoes that are very low on the ankle, I could not stand anything touching around there. They are lace up so I can loosen the laces according to how swollen my leg and foot are. If I cant get a shoe on I just wear my brace. At least that way if I am out somewhere I can use my leg. The brace is one of those boot type casts. If I did not wear that then I would have to hold my leg up while using the crutches and I want to try to use my leg as much as possible. It is already so atrophied so the muscles need as much use as possible. What do you mean about your toe rupturing?? Hope you are having a pain-less day!!!! Take care, Love Jai
