Of course now she will be in a day program so that will all be scrapped. Hugs PS Did they send you an invite to the IEP? That's the law 1) and 2) Don't let them tell you how long an IEP can be. It's illegal to have a time limit. We've had our IEP IN the classroom while class was in session before. I'm having IEP #3 on 4/1 not a good omen Hugs

Guest guest
So we go to the IEP today at 9:00 am and no one is there. We wait about 10 minutes and they show up, but they are getting ready for students and really don't have time to do one. (Uhm--DUH!) So we are scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30. They did keep Buster and he was a handful for the time we stayed and watched, and the noise level as the kids were coming in got tremendous, but they moved him into a room with one or two other students. They also said that keeping him without an IEP was against Federal regs (again -- DUH!). They tried to tell me that even if he got out of the classroom, he wouldn't get off campus, however... when the kids are coming in and going out they have the gates open and yes, he can.. so that IS an issue. He came home on the bus and really enjoyed that, but didn't want to get off the bus. Problem, an hour after he got home, he was in overload. The 4 days of getting him to sleep at a regular hour tossed out the window cuz he practically fell over at 5:00 pm and then he woke up at 10:00 pm to throw up all over me. So, I gotta find out what they fed him and hopefully put a stop to that. This whole thing is just not looking too good so far. debbi --- Win a $50 Avon Gift Certificate! http://snurl.com/vb7
Guest guest
Hi Debbi. I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough time yesterday and am praying things go better for you today. I found your post very interesting and helpful to me. I don't know a whole lot about IEP's yet but my next local ASA support group meeting is on April 6th and they're having a lawyer there from Georgia Advocacy to discuss IEP's and the law. You can bet I'll be taking lots of detailed notes - LOL. Love, prayers and heart hugs... Debbie (Dawsonville, GA) - Mom to Evan (9/7/98) ToF, repair surgery on 2/11/99, Absent Pulmonary Valve, RBBB, Asthma, Autism, and , born 4/13/02 .... another miracle baby! And, of course, my three angel babies (10/16/95; 4/26/96; 10/5/00) who I will meet when God says it's time. April is National Autism Awareness Month!
