Gordon & Lil,

It my case the Beta Blocker and other medications do appear to reduce my

stamina, however what I have found is that if I gradually warm up for exercise,

I can get my heart rate up and do almost anything I did before. At 225 lbs. and

age 73, I try to mix walking (1 to 4 miles), biking (10 to 25 miles), and

swimming (1/4 to 1/2 mile) which ever I find time to do at least 3 times a week

for 30 minutes to 1 and 1/2 hour per session. I still mow my lawn with a push

mover. I let my body tell me what I can do each time. I don't try to set any

records. I also wear a heart rate monitor to be sure what is going on.

the heart capability we can get.

Yes I suppose this is true. I always thought I was a wimp when I would get

out of breath in certain exercise situations (especially climbing up a lot of

stairs or going uphill for a long way.) Does taking digoxin help with a

stronger heartbeat?
