Guest guest
>>>These products are measured in Grains. > Each Grain is equal to 64.8 mg containing 9 mcg of T3 and 38 mcg of the T4> hormone. >>> Is this saying that 38 mcg of T4 equals 64 mg of Armour - which is 1 grain? Am I wrong to wonder why the Armour to Synthroid 'conversion chart' says that 100 mcg of Levoxyl (T4) equals 1 grain? Big difference. What am I missing? Especially when one considers the rather loose standards that the generic/brand companies of synthroid have been allowed to adhere to. Some generic brands of synthroid are a certain percentage stronger than the brands. In my own limited personal experience, 30mgs or 1/2 grain of armour feels about as potent as 25 mcgs of synthroid. Anyone else able to make observations? Sim

What is missing is the T3. T3 is considered three times as potent as T4. So in actuality, I would count the 9mcg as 27 mcg T4 plus 38mcg T4 would be equivalent to 65mcg synthroid for every grain of Armour. This is different than I have read for conversions, but I bet it is alot closer than the charts. Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
My thoughts too....not adding T3 until after I hit 3 grains & then see how it goes before I do. C Re: Re: Nature-Throid - Western Research Labs I never had digestion problems, and I doubt extra T3 would help. It WILL make you lots more HUNGRY! Probably form burning more calories. I had totally lost my appetite and ate very weird for a number of years when I was very hypo. You probably have just not got to an ideal Armour range yet. At the dosage you are on I would NOT even think about adding more T3 till I had worked up to at least 3 grains.
