Guest guest
After you've taken it for a while then you can tell us if it's helped you or not? Thanx, Caroline Re: Do I fit the pattern? It's another attempt to balance my estrogen ratios. No, it hasn't noticeably helped anything that I can tell. I tried several times to do HRT. It sets off my migraines something awful. Last time was with a GYN/Endo. Seemed like a brilliant combo. But after 18 months, I couldn't take it any more. I'm always hotter than I ever have been. used to be the one turning the A/C up and wearing jackets. Not any more. I get hotter at night. Not really flashes, more like simmers. Not the worst problem I have! I wondered if the potassium iodide might effect the thyroid. If more or less of it might help. Kate

Guest guest
Potassium Iodide? Hope you don't have thyroid antibodies, which, if you have thyroid disease, is very likely. Hashimoto's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism, and iodine in any form makes the antibodies go after the thyroid that much more. The thyroid is very attracted to iodine, since that's what our natural hormone is made from, iodine molecules. Any iodine goes straight for the thyroid, and the antibodies are like pac-people after it. We get plenty of it hidden in our daily diets in all kinds of things, we don't need to add to it. Do I fit the pattern? > > OK. I'm reading and trying to figure out if I am hypothyroid. I'm having trouble holding the info in my brain. Some things make sense, others don't, then I forget why I thought that! > a.. temperature throughout day usually under 97.7 axillary, about 96.7 first thing in morning. > b.. brain fog, difficulty of focus > c.. migraines > d.. very tired all the time > e.. fibromyalgia with its many aches and pains > f.. sleep apnea treated with CPAP (sleep better, still tired) > g.. feet often cold, but recent years the rest of me is hot, especially head. Personal thermostat handles all temperature variation poorly > h.. overweight, great difficulty in losing any > i.. hair has thinned > j.. pulse usual in 80s, BP 110/70 > k.. high cholesterol > l.. chronic sinus > m.. itchy scalp > n.. depression > I am menopausal. Do not take HRT. I have tried several supplements to balance but not found anything yet. Doctor now put me on 1 drop of potassium iodide for that. How might that effect the thyroid? > Thanks, Kate
